Surakarta, March 1, 2024 – The Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta held an activity for prospective Indonesian dentists, with the holding of the Indonesian Medical Council (KKI) Debriefing Event. The Dentist Professional Program held by the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) UMS on Friday, March 1, 2024, starting at 08.00 to 11.00 WIB.
Under the supervision of the Chief Executive, drg. Aprilia Yuanita A., MDSc., Sp.Perio, the event was run hybridly, allowing participation both online and face-to-face.
The event was not only a platform for participants to get the latest information about the regulations and standards of the dental profession in Indonesia, but also a golden opportunity to gain knowledge from two main speakers:
- Drs. Hisyam Said, M.Sc As the Chairperson of the Guidance Division of the Medical Council, Drs. Hisyam Said provided in-depth insight into the role of KKI in overseeing the practice of the dental profession in Indonesia. With his extensive experience, he provided an inspiring view of the standards that must be adhered to by dental practitioners.
- Dr. Prasetyo Edi, Sp.BTKV, Subsp VE (K), FIHA, MH As the Chairperson of the Special Capital Region Dentistry Council (MKDKI), Dr. Prasetyo Edi brought a special perspective on the practice of dentistry at the local level. Taking into account the dynamics and challenges faced by dentists in the field, Dr. Prasetyo provided valuable insights on how to deal with practical day-to-day issues.
Both presenters provided a comprehensive perspective on the ethics, standards, and challenges faced by dentists in Indonesia. Thus, this event not only provided knowledge, but also motivated the participants to become practitioners with integrity and quality in carrying out their humanitarian duties as dentists.
