Surakarta, 2 September 2023 – The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Dentistry, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (FKG UMS) held their annual orientation activity called “DENTITION (Dentistry Orientation)”. This event is the first step for new students class of 2023 to understand the campus environment and prepare themselves for university life.
In this activity “Dentition” aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the academic environment of FKG UMS as well as increase insight into the use of academic facilities available on campus. This event also aims to develop the potential of new students so that they can become agents of social change who are able to contribute to society.
This activity was carried out for three days, starting from 31 August to 2 September 2023. New students were actively involved in various activities, including delivery of material by expert speakers, tutorial simulations, introduction to the campus environment, as well as pretests and posttests to measure their understanding.
The theme “Sail Thru the Wave, Dream Beyond the Ocean” is an inspiration for participants to dream big and explore their own potential. Through this activity, it is hoped that new students can move forward with confidence and high enthusiasm in pursuing their academic and professional goals.
The Chair of the Committee, expressed, “We are committed to providing a meaningful orientation experience for our new students. Dentition is not only about providing information, but also about building connections, brotherhood, and a passion for growing together as a community.”
With the end of “Dentition”, the new students of FKG UMS are ready to start their academic journey with firm steps and burning enthusiasm. Hopefully they can make brilliant achievements in the future and become a source of pride for their alma mater.
