Surakarta, November 02, 2023.On Tuesday, October 31, 2023, students of the dental profession program at the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (FKG UMS) took part in the 18th Period Komuda Promise. The event took place from 08.00 WIB to 11.00 WIB, and took place in the 9th Floor Room of the Soelastri Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM).
A total of sixty-two students of the dental profession program attended the 18th Period Komuda Promise. This event is one of the important traditions in FKG UMS which marks the transition of students to a higher level in the dental education program.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm and dedication of the students. He also encouraged them to continue to strive and develop knowledge and skills in the field of dentistry.
The Commencement Ceremony Period 18 is an important first step in the students’ journey towards success in the world of dentistry. They are expected to become competent professionals and contribute positively to society and the world of oral health.
With the successful implementation of the 18th Period Commuda Promise, it is hoped that FKG UMS students will continue to develop and become an integral part in maintaining the oral health of the community. Congratulations to the dental professional program students who have reached this milestone, and may they continue to excel in their journey ahead.
In this event, students also received motivation from alumni who have been successful in their careers as dentists:
- Drg. Dr. Nur Amriyani is one of the FKG UMS alumni who has achieved success in the world of dentistry. She shared her experiences about her journey from entering the profession to graduating as a successful dentist. Dr. Nur Amriyani emphasized the values of perseverance and hard work in achieving goals, as well as providing tips for facing professional exams and undergoing quality dental practice.
- Drg. Febby Aurelita Jaya Pradana is also a FKG UMS alumni who provided motivation. She shared an inspiring story about how FKG UMS provided a strong educational foundation in her journey towards a successful career as a dentist. Dr. Febby also emphasized the importance of professionalism, empathy for patients, and competency development in dental practice.
In addition to the two alumni, Ustadz Suwinarno, MPI, provided motivational material on “Becoming a Qualified and Noble Dentist.” In his presentation, Ustadz Suwinarno discussed how Islamic religious values can be integrated in dental practice and inspired students to become dentists who are not only proficient in the clinical field but also have noble morals.
With motivation from successful alumni and Ustadz Suwinarno’s views, it is hoped that FKG UMS students will be more motivated and ready to face challenges on their journey to success as dentists with high quality and integrity. The spirit and inspiration they receive at this Komuda Promise event will help them live a bright future in the world of dentistry.
